The international airport of Curacao is in the northern part of the island, 11 kilometers from the capital Willemstad. In cooperation with Changi Airport (Singapore) they are working on extending and improving the airport. The first phase is in 2006 rounding off with the opening of a new terminal building. With that Curacao Airport will be one of the most modern airports in the Caribbean.
